High-gloss clear polyurethane protects the painted finish as well as allows effortless soap-and-water cleanups. One-piece polystyrene inner shell helps absorb shocks. Blue perforated microfiber nylon lines the bottom, around the extra-thick cheek padding and the crown (front to back) to enhance air circulation. Flexible black gasket fits against face shield for a tight fit and reduces face-shield noise. Pods are not removable. Replacement face shield and mounting screws sold separately.
