Standard prefixes are commonly used for multiple and submultiple quantities to cover the wide range of values used in measurement units. These are given in next Table :

These prefixes can be added to the front of any SI unit to indicate a multiple or submultiple of that unit. For example, 1 kilometer (km) is equal to 1,000 meters (m), and 1 millimeter (mm) is equal to 0.001 meters (m). It's important to use these prefixes correctly and consistently when expressing measurements, as they can greatly affect the value and scale of the quantity being measured.
